DID YOU KNOW ?

Claude Monet became partially blind after surgery.

In his later years, Monet produced a series of paintings that were notable for their blue colours. This was due to the artist becoming partially colour blind following surgery to correct cataracts. Monet had major difficulty differentiating colours and would label his paints so that he new what he was using. His blue paintings are still considered some of his finest work.
